Can I hire snow chains in Bourg Saint Maurice??

Grateful for any help

Hi,

On the main road in Bourg there is a EuropeCar office on the right handside at the main crossroads just down from Lidl%26#39;s, you may be able to hire snowchains from there, fail in that at SuperU at the other end of town you can buy snowchains at very reasonable prices from £20 +.

If you are taking you%26#39;re own car from the UK you can buy snowchains at most car parts shops (Halfords etc), some may even hire them to you.

All the best

Jon.

Hi

If you are renting a car in France then most car rental places insist that you get the chains from them.

If it is your own car my son has used this company several times

www.snowchains.co.uk/main/rentals_car.htm

They send then to you a few days before departure (so you can try them out, putting chains on for the first time in the cold snow by the side of the road is no fun). Then you drop them back, they are 5 minutes off of the M20/M26

Hi,

I agree with JBart and having bought chains en-route to France from www.snowchains.co.uk I can highly recommend them.

If you do have a hire car and end up with chains from them, do, do, do put them on in the carpark at the hire shop and check they%26#39;re okay. I%26#39;ve had friends who a) struggled to put them on for the first time in the snow, and b) then found out that the chains were bust.

In fact, even if you buy chains, put them on once when you%26#39;re parked somewhere warm(ish) and dry - the first time I had to do it was at 1700M in the dark, in a blizzard. My wife and I nearly divorced.

Cheers,

Matt
