Will be in PAris Aug 4-9. Staying at the Regent Hotel, 2 Place des Pyramides. What is the best way to get to Versailles and what day is best to visit.
Can you advise which train station is closest to hotel ?
Thank you

Hmmmm I couldnt find a Regent Hotel at 2 Place des Pyramides in Paris but assumming the street address is correct I would walk to one of the nearby Metro stations (Tuileries, Palais Royal - Musee de Louvre, or Pyramides) and make my way to Versaille on the RER C Line (Yellow). Here are a couple links to help you out.

I think you can still get a combined train ticket and entrance ticket to versaille as well so you should check into that at the Metro Station...it could save you some time lining up to buy a ticket at versaille!

The RER line at St Michele near Notre Dame goes to Versailles correct? Any special instructions if going from this stop?
I plan to buy the pass and ride together also so that I dont have to wait in line at the palace

Yes your plan will work. I am sure that you can buy the tickets there, although we bought ours at a different station

Hotel Regina,, and you can%26#39;t remember it, shame on you, LOL, thats a nice hotel..!
I personally would walk through the Tuilleries Gardens( across street from your hotel) and cross river and get the RER line C( direction Versailles) from Musee D%26#39;Orsay station,, but I would prefer the walk to getting the metro to the RER.. If you want to take all transport , just get on line 1 metro at Tuilleries, (about 1/2 block up street from your hotel), direction Chateau de Vincennes , get off at Chatelet, find line 4 direction Porte D%26#39;Orleans, get off like one stop later at St Michel, and get on RER line C direction Versailles Rive Gauche..seems like a lot of looking at signs ( Chatelet is a huge station , with many lines converging and many long walks between lines,, to be avoided if possible in my opinion) when you could just go for a nice ten minute walk and get on RER line C directly..
Do be careful to get on RER C direction Versailles, you will be fine if you do , the RER station in Versailles in only a 5 minute walk to Chateau.
Have fun.
