An afternoon in Giverny?

We are based in Paris in early March and are thinking about going to Giverny for an afternoon.

I was reading in the forum that you could do Versailles and Giverny in a day. Is Versailles on the way to Giverny? Can you take a train from Versailles or Paris? Would it be worth going in March

before the flowers are blooming?

Thank you!

I think it might have meant that you could do Versailles in a day, and Giverny in a day, but not both in a single day. I suppose you could, but you would have robbed yourself of a couple of wonderful days exploring these sights.

Versailles is easily reachable by RER -- and will easily take the greater part of a day, by the time you see the palace and the gardens.

Giverny is nearly another hour west of Versailles (if you%26#39;re driving - via public transport, it%26#39;s quite a bit longer) -- and again, can easily take the better part of a day.

BUT....Giverny doesn%26#39;t open until 1 April...so I think THAT is your final answer!
