What makes you think that hotels in Paris are likely to be dirty and dangerous?
|||
Well, I suppose if you%26#39;ve never been to Paris before, it%26#39;s a reasonable question to ask for a clean, safe hotel.
Have you sorted the hotels on TA by price? When you find a few you like the looks of, come back and ask if anyone has stayed there. Happy travels!

Can%26#39;t vouch for it personally as I am not going until April but my TA research led me to Hotel Diana in Latin Quarter....might be worth looking at.

Last May, my friend and I each booked a room at College de France in the Latin Quarter. I think the price for a single was about 90 Euro/night. The hotel was clean and the owner and desk clerks were friendly and helpful. We felt very safe there. www.hotel-collegedefrance.com

Hmmmmmm. I dont think I ever said dirty and dangerous. I have been to Paris a half dozen times, but not in this area. I have been in areas and hotels that did not fall into clean and areas that were questionable.
Looking for personal experiences. I have seen www.hotel-collegedefrance.com/index.html and it is a possibility.

Hotel Cluny Sorbonne www.hotel-cluny.fr/home.php might fit your budget and is well situated, in the Latin Quarter.
I haven%26#39;t stayed there but, other people had positive comments.

In my post on top, there are 2 links that look like one. The first one takes you to TA reviews, the second to hotel%26#39;s official site.

I second the hotel College de France. We stayed there for 2 nights last October. Very clean, quiet and front desk managers were great.

Hi there: I%26#39;ve been to Paris many times and almost always stay in the Latin Quarter. The cheapest place is the Familia Hotel http://www.hotel-paris-familia.com/. It%26#39;s very basic but it%26#39;s clean and cheap. The staff is very nice and attentive. The location is amazing - just a few blocks away and you%26#39;re at the Seine looking at Notre Dame. It%26#39;s a 2 star but NOT sketchy. Rooms are quite small as in most places in Paris. Their sister hotel is two doors down, I think it%26#39;s called Minerve Hotel and they refer to each other if one or the other is full. Last time I was there both were full so I stayed at the Hotel Christophe saint-christophe-hotel.com/uk/navigation.htm It was probably nicer than Familia and Minerve but quite a bit further into the Latin Quarter and away from the Seine. However, the metro is right there so it%26#39;s still convenient. All three are great options and reasonable. You%26#39;ll like the Latin Quarter as well. Good luck!

Thanks, still looking for more input
