Gites, Beaches & Travel

Hi,

We are thinking about hiring a Gite or a holiday cottage along the Atlantic Coast in May/June time. We will be a group of 5 or 6 adults and are looking for somewhere reasonably quiet with a few bars and restaurants near to the beach (preferably within walking distance). Somewhere on the coast near Bordeaux would be good so there are plenty of day trips we could do. Can anyone reccomend any websites/travel agaents who hire out the gites and any in particular they have used and would reccomend.

Also how long roughly should we allow for driving on Saturday in May/June down from Calais?

Cheers

It will take you about eight hours to drive down from Calais, taking the route via Rouen, in order to avoid Paris. You can find a selection of gites and cottages to hire in the area by going to this website:
