We%26#39;ll be without a car in Paris and plan to do Fat Tire%26#39;s bike trip to Versailles. Anyone have a tour company they%26#39;d recommend to explore the Loire%26#39;s castles? Or other day trips you%26#39;d recommend with 10 year old and 13 year old in tow?

I have done the FT bike to Versailles, enjoyed it very much. I think your 13 yr will have no problem at all with biking trip, but hope the 10yr is somewhat fit and energetic for age as there is a reasonable amount of biking( everyone in our group did fine except one slightly overweight mom ( and not related) and one slightly anemeic looking 13 yr old girl , they both made it but tired easily it seemed)
I have also taken my 14 yr to Loire Valley on Cityrama bus tour. It was a long day, but easy as you can sleep on bus( you start VERY early), and it was nice not having to wait in lines at Chateaus). It was very expensive though, I think with 4 of you I would definately consider taking a train to say Amboise and renting a car for the day( or two if smart) and seeing Chateau and countryside on your own!
Chantilly is another fun daytrip, especially if your kids like horses as the HOrse Museum and Royal Stables are right across street from Chateau, check out Chantillys web site, its in english too. Its a 30 minute train trip to Chantilly from Gare Du Nord.
Also , I haven%26#39;t been, but from what I have read, and looking at the very good website , have you considered a day in Provins, it is a world heritage site, a living musuem, there would be jousting matches, bird of prey demonstrations, and war machine shows, sounds great . Google %26#39;Provins%26quot;

Several years ago we did this tour and booked it through Northwest Airlines Vacations. They used a company called www.Cityrama-paris.com The location was great at 2 Place de Pyramides. It was kind of between the Louvre and the Tuleries.

Will add, Cityrama and ParisVisions are the two main big bus tour type companies in Paris, they do trips all over, I just chose Cityrama as it was about 5 euros cheaper,, it shouldn%26#39;t have made a difference,, but I guess I thought I could buy an extra glass of Coke with that money saved,, LOL

How about visiting the Asterix amusement park. Rides, etc. for the kids. At least it is French!
