I am thinking of getting Boingo for WiFi access in Paris. It is only $59.00 for Global access, so I can use it for a month, and then cancel. I used it once before for WiFi access in an airport in the US, and was happy with the service.
Has anyone tried Boingo in Paris? I am wondering if there are enough hotspots to make it worth it.

I doubt that you%26#39;ll need it.
Check this list of free hotspots. It%26#39;s in French, but it%26#39;s sorted by arrondissement, with a map of each location.
Additionally, many many cafes, bars, etc offer free Wifi.

I%26#39;m all over the city daily with my iPhone and I%26#39;ve only seen Boingo appear as a WIFI option once. Maybe I don%26#39;t understand how their service is delivered but it%26#39;s possible that with all the free WIFI all over the city and the intense saturation of NEUF WIFI, they may not be a good choice.
And I think robertzimmerman%26#39;s post may even understate the availability of WIFI. Fast and free, unrestricted WIFI access to the internet is available in most of the city parks. Every McDonalds that has tables and chairs offers it for free. It%26#39;s very nearly ubiquitous in Paris.

IMO- you wont need Boingo, the free wifi offered all over Paris is fantastic and I used it often.

I was there last month and had a hard time connecting for free, i bought a orange 1 week plan, what was i doing wrong? Other than say sitting in a cafe and getting their free wifi, what networks etc do i need to be looking for?

what list?

A list of public WiFi hotspots in Paris can be found here. It%26#39;s in French, but it has a map of parks and government offices that act as hot spots.
I%26#39;ve used the hot spots at Place des Vosges and Trocadero and never had trouble connecting.
