Hotels in Paris

Next month I am going to visit my daughter in London and we plan on spending a couple of days in Paris. We%26#39;ve never been there and was wondering if anyone can give us the name of a reasonable hotel that is close to the Euro Station.

Any other tips for first timers would be appreciated also.

Thanks!

If you%26#39;re willing to take a taxi or use the metro to/from Gare du Nord (Eurostar), an area nearer the Seine might be a little nicer and closer to typical sights...

I agree with travelnutty, try and stay near the Seine, it%26#39;s worth the taxi or metro fare from Gare du Nord station where Eurostar arrives in to Paris.

Happy planning.

Not sure what reasonable might be but for about 140Euros for a double/twin, the Hotel Muguet would be my choice. Near Eiffel, Invalides, Seine, and very recently and tastefully renovated from top to bottom. Very close to metro, BatOBus, and easy walks to a number of sights. What you see on their webdsite is what you get.

You should get a metro pass and use it to get around. Bring passport photo for it. They have tourist passes for various numbers of days and you can buy at Gare du Nord. Unless you have tons of luggage, no reason to stay near station as metro takes you anywhere. I always stay at a nice small French hotel near Picpus with metro station less than 100 meters away and save a few hundred Euros a week over a pricier hotel downtown.

Thanks for everyone%26#39;s help! I did check out the Hotel Muguet and looks like it%26#39;s exactly what I wanted. Do you know how far of a taxi ride it is to the Gare du Nord station? Thanks, again!
