Beds in Paris?

We are two single woman and desire two beds for our upcoming Paris trip. Hotels list accomodations as %26quot;single%26quot; %26amp; %26quot;double%26quot; rooms.....not sure what this means as to the bed situation. Can anyone fill us in?

if you email the hotel and ask, the will let you know. Many rooms have two single beds. Just specify if you are looking for: two single rooms, one single bed in each room, or or a double room that has two single beds in it.

Naturally, bed sizes vary in France like they do everywhere. Normally a single room (as noted) means a room for one single person. A double room means a room for two people. The double room can be a double avec deux lits (with two beds - which can be two single beds or two double beds, depending upon what the hotel has to offer - it is normally two single beds) or a double room with only one bed for two people.

Bed sizes vary, but here is a basic rundown.

1 person - 90 x 190 cms or 90 x 200

1 person - 120 x 200 cms or 120 x 190 (less common in hotels)

2 persons - 140 x 190 cms or 140 x 200 (equiv. to a U.S. double bed)

2 persons - TWO 70, 80 or 90 cms x 190 or by 200 placed together as one bed (the 80 and 90 cms x 190 or 200 put together are fairly common in hotels)

2 persons - 160 x 200 (equiv. to a U.S. Queen bed)

2 persons - 180 x 200 (equiv. to a U.S. King bed)

Ask for %26quot;une chambre twin%26quot;. Double means one large bed for a couple
