4 days in Nice

My self, my wife and 15 year old son are travelling to Nice for 4 days 16-20 February.I am looking for a clean comfortable quite hotel in the €150-200 cost range. I would like to be close to old city, restuarants. Any recommendantions about hotels, good restuarants, relaxing things to do. Small request I know!! any advice much appreciated.

You are coming at Nice carnaval time so I%26#39;d advise you to look at a site such as kayak.fr for hotels that have availability and then check likely places for reviews etc

3 bed rooms are generally easy to find i wasn%26#39;t sure if thats what you were looking for.

Central nice is very compact and walkable so you will be fairly close to everything if you pick a central hotel.

canaval is fun to go to- you have the option of the night carnaval or the battle of the flowers during your visit. the battle of the flowers is a ticket only event - the night carnaval is either tickets and seats or free along the route.

I prefer the atmosphere of standing along the route with the rest of the cheapskates and the night carnaval with all the special effects fire and sparks

Apart from that what do you like to do? what do you want to see?

Try the accorhotels.com chain and look for the Mercure Promenade des Anglais and the various Novotels. The hotel on the Promenade is within 10 miutes of Vieux Nice and the rue Masséna, where you will find any number of good restaurants.

TAM bus 98 from the airport to stop congres/promenmade = 4euros per person

i%26#39;m not sure about sporting events but it looks like Nice and Monaco are playing away while you are here

the main events next week are the Carnaval in Nice, the lemon festival in menton -go by bus or train

feteducitron.com/menton-french-riviera-lemon…

and the mimosa festival mandelieu la napoule- go by train

www.ot-mandelieu.fr

Lots of art galleries to go to , museums, villages close by etc- what sort of culture are you looking for?

Walk up to the top of colline de chateau

walk up or take bus up to top of Mont Boron and walk around to Fort Alban

Go up to eze village -see the village and then walk down to eze bord de mer by Nietzsche%26#39;s path.

take the train des merveilles and get off at Sospel, Breil sur Roya. La Brigue, Tende etc -there is probably snow at La brigue and Tende so wrap up if you go . There was snow lying at st Dalmas de tende last weekend which is lower altitude then la brigue and tende]
