Break in trip needed between Bordeaux and Burgundy

Hello. We will be driving from St Emilion (near Bordeaux) to Beaune (Burgundy) in April.

We%26#39;d like to stop somewhere along the way for 2-3 nights. Can anyone recommend some accomodation which has interesting activities nearby to occupy us for at least a day? Prefer either B%26amp;B or small hotel/guest house. In regard to activities, we%26#39;d prefer something active and outdoor - eg. underground caves, kayaking, bush walk

Any help would be appreciated.

The first place that comes to mind along the way is the area around le Mont Dore, but it%26#39;s still winter sports season, so activities will be mostly snow-related - worth investigating though? http://www.sancy.com/default-a.php
