Duty-free shopping at CDG?

I would like to know if there is good duty-free shopping at CDG airport....particularly interested in designer purses and unique food items. Would appreciate your feedback.

There still is some, but as of January I noted that it%26#39;s much reduced from even a year ago - you can find a pretty decent selection of perfume and liquor, but little now in the way of handbags, etc. Better to buy in Paris, concentrate the purchases with one or two stores, and qualify for the basic detaxe refund.

In December they had all the major brands at CDG, LV, Polo, etc. I didn%26#39;t go in so I%26#39;m not sure if these were just regular stores or if they were duty free.

There are many duty free shops in CDG. Check your prices four purses, watches, ect., in Canada before you go. You might discover there isn%26#39;t much of a savings even at a duty free shop when you factor the euro vs Canadian dollar. If it%26#39;s an expensive item and you use a charge know what the credit card company will charge for a service fee.

Make certain your %26quot;unique%26quot; food items will clear Canadian customs as well. No sense buying something only to have it removed from your person.

I wonder if the %26quot;many%26quot; duty free stores in CDG airport depends on which gate you%26#39;re departing from??? We were on a BA flight and we must have walked for miles and miles before we eventually got to our gate and I can tell you, there were very few DF shops where we were. Quelle disappointment !!!

My advice??? Shop in Paris - much more variety and you can do this at a more leisurely pace in lieu of sightseeing if you want to plus pack the goodies away so you%26#39;re not struggling with carry ons, bags, cameras, laptops, purses etc - you get my drift. Furthermore, you may be able to get the tax back as a previous poster suggested

I agree, there didn%26#39;t seem to be many vendors at CDG last May. We flew on Northwest and left from the brand new terminal. I think it had just opened so may depend on where you leave from. I wouldn%26#39;t count on doing much shopping there.

In the fabulous new terminal 2E, I bought a Tumi wallet, Guerlain cologne and giant bar of Lindt chocolate. All a great bargain!

I%26#39;ll be travelling through Terminal 2A....

I should have mentioned that my experiences were in 2A. (But, isn%26#39;t Tumi a US brand?)

I agr with panurgenyc, I was just in terminal 2E yesterday and it was like a decently sized mall. Could kick myself for not picking us some cologne... the prices were pretty good.

Terminal 2A seems to ring a bell with me. I don;t know whether the number or selection of shops available depends on the GATE you depart from, but there may be a different selection of shops at different gates if this is so.

Try this website to see what%26#39;s available in each terminal (click on the appropriate box towards the bottom of the page when you open the link)
