Hi Tripadvisors,
We%26#39;ve booked a self catering appartment through last minute.com (who were great for offers from a month in advance, btw) and we are staying in a self catering appartment somewhere in Val Claret run by the Interhome group.
The disadvantage is they don%26#39;t tell you where exactly you will be until you arrive. I think its best to know where to hope for, so if anyone has any info at all on that topic, please would you let me know?
Incidentally they had originally only confirmed that we were in Tignes and not which village, until I insisted, because it is impossible to hire ski equipment or book ski school!!
Does anyone have recommendations on where to shop for food and what things are strangely expensive? I know its a resort so imagine that some things will be hiked up beyond all reason ...??

Okay, nobody replied and since then I%26#39;ve been and seen it for myself.
Everything is expensive, although in particular jam and honey are oddly expensive. I can%26#39;t explain this.
Frozen meals are cheap-ish. Beer is also not too bad, but then wine is expensive. It follows no pattern!! Take as much with you as you can.
There is only one supermarket in Val Claret, which put paid to deliberations as to WHERE to shop.
Inghams%26#39; square deal holiday offer via Interhome was so awful I will write a separate review when I have some photos to add. Its a lottery, some people get a decent holiday, some (like us) get a truly dreadful hole of a place!!! Honestly, it was so bad it was hilarious.

MadeInChina,
I%26#39;m not seeing your original post of 12 January on the list of posts.Perhaps I have had a beer too many tonight!
Anyone else seeing it?
Trust you had a good weeks skiing notwithstanding the poor apartment.
