Hi all, Will be in Antibes from Friday to Monday this weekend have a wedding to go to on Saturday. Just wondering what i should see on the Friday and Sunday, Cannes or Nice, etc? First time to the south of France so would love some advice!
Also should i rent a car from the airport or is it easy to get around on public transport from Antibes. Its me my 16month baby and my husband.
Thanks so much :)

I would hop in a car and go explore a hill town or two if the weather is nice and then I would head to Nice, Eze and Monaco... wait - skip Nice - Carnival starts this weekend and traffic will be ugly.
Gourdon is very cool - head first up the N202 - make a left up to Gattiers, then follow the raod to St Jeannette, Tourettes(maybe have lunch here) then to St Paul de Vence, or better continue to Bar sur Loup and go up to Gourdon.

Take time to explore Antibes, walk round the ramparts , let your baby play in the sand , see the yachts etc
I wouldn%26#39;t rent a car unless there was somewhere you were burning to see. If you haven%26#39;t been before and don%26#39;t have any set plans just use the bues
On Friday you could go to Biot Village [pretty mediaeval village famous for pottery and glass workshops ] or Valbonne village or even both if you wanted [one euro per journey]
They are on the same bus route from antibes
bus number 10 from antibes bus station

Go to Nice on the train on the sunday morning see the market at cours saleya etc , float around town and maybe watch the carnival in the afternoon. [don%26#39;t buy special tickets incase your baby isn%26#39;t keen ]
Or go to Cannes by train or bus [bus is longer but cheaper ] and look about and then take a ferry to the iles des lerins and see where the man in the iron mask was held captive [ste marguerite] .
Gourdon IMO is very very very touristy [it has lots of crafty/perfumy provencal tourist shops but no real shops like boulangeries or even a tabac -it does have a lovely view but not worth a special detour and cost of a hire car unless you are keen to see the Gorges de Loup as well.
St paul de vence [bus from cagnes sur mer] and Eze [bus from Nice] are also touristy but not as much as Gourdon and much more interesting

I would have a look round Antibes and then get the train to Nice, wander the old town, along the prom and around to the port. That is probably enough for such a short trip but there are plenty of other places easily accessible by train or bus. My favourites are Eze, Villefranche and Cap Ferrat, all 15/20 mins from Nice by bus. Will keep my fingers crossed for some decent weather. If you are unlucky weather can be just as cold as Dublin and, if anything, wetter.

Thank you all so much, am thrilled with this advice, will take it all on board and do as much as we can, sounds like we wont need a car so one less thing to worry about!
Thanks again much appreciated and fingers crossed for nice weather!
