metro connections

We are spending 7 days in Provence and will be traveling to Paris on the TGV. We have rented an apartment on Ste Michel, across the street from the Luxembourg Gardens. Can anyone tell me which metro station we should get off at?

Also, does the metro take you close to the Olympia Theater in the 9th arrd?

10 seconds on Google lead me to this:

The Théâtre de l%26#39;Olympia is 22 Rue de Caumartin, 75009 Paris, between the Madeleine and the Opera metro stations. Check maps.google.ca TO go there from the Luxembourg area walk to Odeon metro statation then take line 4 Clignancourt and change at Chatelet to line 14 and get off at Madeleine. As for your apartment, the St Michel area means a lot of streets, unless you mean Boulevard St Michel? about 5 streets circle the Luxembourg garden. check http://www.beyond.fr/map/paris2j07.html Coming from Gare de Lyon with suitcases I would take a cab as otherwise you need to take 2 or 3 different lines. Chek the metro map at www.ratp.info/orienter/f_plan_ang.php… (you may have to increase the size by going, near the top, to 100 % or ..)

I think you%26#39;ll find that the all of the public transportation connections between GARE de LYON (the Paris terminus for your TGV from Provence) and addresses along Blvd. Saint Michel, in the neighborhood of Jardin du Luxembourg (from rue Vaugirard to rue de l%26#39;Abbé de l%26#39;Épée) are going to be %26#39;..clunky..%26#39;, at best...involving train or bus transfers en-route.

The most direct public transportation routing involves taking the RER %26#39;A%26#39; ligne from GARE de LYON to CHÄTELET-LES HALLES station...then making the quick ligne/train transfer over to the RER %26#39;B%26#39; ligne train to LUXEMBOURG RER station. Your destination address along Blvd. Saint Michel will make a difference here as to whether you ride the First or Last cars of the %26#39;B%26#39; train in relation to LUXEMBOURG RER station Exits.

The Exits from the LUXEMBOURG RER station are located up at 69 Blvd. Saint Michel at rue Gay-Lussac (at the %26#39;top/north%26#39; of Jardin du Luxembourg) and farther down at 101 Blvd. Saint Michel at rue de l%26#39;Abbé de l%26#39;Epée (at the %26#39;bottom/south%26#39; of Jardin du Luxembourg). There is escalator service up to street level at the Blvd. Saint Michel/rue Gay Lussac station exit.

In practical terms, you may just find taking a TAXI PARISIAN from the regular Taxi rank to Gare de Lyon, directly to your destination simpler and more straightforward.
