A little help required please

I have booked my easyjet flights for Fri 20th March to charles de gaulle arriving 19:50, I would like to know if this is the best way to get to the Eiffel Tower area where I am looking to find a hotel:

Take RER Train Line B to Saint Michel and then Line C to Champ de Mars

The Hotel I was looking at in particular was Hotel Nouvel Eiffel, I am travelling alone and just looking for a clean place to stay does not have to be top rated, have I made a decent choice?

Also is there any good bars that would be good for a lone traveller looking to mingle.

Any help on any of the above much appreciated

Hi,

The route is fine if you are going to the Eiffel Tower area. Is it the hotel on rue des Volontaires? If so it is not really that close to the Tower - you would have to take the metro from Champ de Mars (Line 6 to Sevres Lecourbe), or use the RER to Denfert Rochereau and change there.

But, it you want a hotel near the Tower then this one is not really that close. Also, I would say for either the hotel area or the Tower area (I live near there) is perhaps not the best place for bars for single travellers, there are few but not really a lively night life area for singles - there are may be other areas that would suit you better for that. Sorry - can%26#39;t help much with that as not young and single any more!!

Hi Alison thanks very much for your reply, are there any other hotels closer at that price range then? E60-E70 per night I presume not? I chose Eiffel area only because it looks easiest to find, I do not want to be walking around the city looking for the hotel all night with getting there rather late, I have my bearings along the river but once I get into the city a bit I easily get lost haha

Your best bet would be to look for hotels in the St. Michel neighborhood. It is a direct ride from the RER, so getting lost would be more difficult and you%26#39;ll be safer wandering around alone at night where there are lots of people out and about.

phread thanks very much I have took this information on board and am now looking at another hotel ABBATIAL SAINT GERMAIN HOTEL which is slightly more expensive but looks much better quality and it will be a massive bonus not having to change lines from the airport... I know the notre dame area too so thanks!!!

Hotel Diana and Hotel College du France are both on trip advisor. I%26#39;m also searching for a hotel room for less than 100 Euro/night and found these two that fit the price range and both get great reviews. They are both in the latin quarter.

Enjoy!
