Versailles

Hi,

i%26#39;m traveling in a couple of days to Paris for

the first time and i%26#39;d like to also check out

Versailles.

I%26#39;m aware of the big queues so it%26#39;s better to have

tickets in your hand beforehand.

I know of the websites that sell them but i was

wondering if i can i just buy them in any

news stands, stations or elsewhere in Paris.

Can anyone help?

If you buy a Museum Pass, which includes visit to the chateau, you are going to avoid the lines to the cashier. However, I still had to stay in line for more than 1 hour to get in with my MP. The MPs are sold in the Pyramid.

There used to be a pass called the FORFAIT LOSIRS CHATEAU de VERSAILLES that could be pre-purchased at RER stations and FNCA stores in Paris. This pass is NO LONGER AVAILABLE--http://www.transilien.com/web/site/accueil/citylien/forfaits-loisirs/Chateau-de-Versailles

In lieu of this, you may now pre-purchase and print-out entry passes and audio guide rentals, through the direct Chateau de Versailles web site-- …chateauversailles.fr/online/… \

As noted, entry to much (but not all) of the chateau and grounds are covered by the PARIS MUSEUM PASS-- http://www.parismuseumpass.com/en/home.php

** IF ** you decide on the PARIS MUSEUM PASS...**DO NOT** pre-purchase this pass from on-line vendors before you arrive in Paris. Most vendors tack-on anywhere from 25%-to-35% in profit, shipping %26amp; handling/postage charges....while providing almost ZERO in the way of additional convenience. The PMP is quickly, easily, readily available, from a large number of participating institutions, in Paris at the lower %26#39;official%26#39; price.
