Need help on deciding on hotel in 6th district Paris please?

I am planning a trip with my mum at the end of may. I have done lots of research on areas and I think the Latin Quarter sounds like what we are looking for. Somewhere with nice resturants and bars and just generally nice places to walk around with easy access to the centre.

My budget is about £220 max total for 2 nights although if possible would like it to be less as more spending money.

I am torn between these two hotels

Le Grand Hotel Des Gobelins

Hotel le Littre

I have read the reviews on here and both sound good but I just cannot decide. Are the areas that they are located in different.

Thanks for you help..

Yes, they are located in different areas, one is in the 13th in the Jardin des Plantes area and the other is in Montparnasse area.

If you are interested in staying in the Latin Quarter then look for a hotel in the LQ. Can check Hotel Diana, it%26#39;s very well located, in the heart of the LQ and would suit your budget www.hotel-diana-paris.com

I stayed at the Hotel Select on Place Sorbonne, and it was excellent. Our room overlooked the Sorbonne and you can%26#39;t get mor Latin Quarter than that. It%26#39;s in the 5th, not the 6th, but then so is all of the Latin Quarter.

Thanks for the replys. Hotel Diana I have already checked out and its full the dates we want to go. Hotel Select I have also checked out but its a little more than I wanted to spend (mainly cos I saw it cheaper a couple of weeks ago and didnt go for it).

Are the areas where these hotels are not that good then? Just need somewhere at the end of the day to go out and have a nice meal which isnt too overpriced. And a location thats nice to walk around.

Thanks again for your help.

Select doesn%26#39;t fit the budget.

We posted at the same time.

The Gobelins is less central, I prefer le Littre. It%26#39;s well situated, near rue de Rennes which is full of shops, the area is nice, good transportation and TA reviews are good.

For more ideas here%26#39;s a link tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g187147-i14-k25268…

How is it you would pay for Hotel le Littre if your budget is %26lt;£220 max total for 2 nights%26gt;, which equates to 245€ or 123€ per night? The best rate I saw on le Littre%26#39;s website for the last week of May was 213€/night.

|||

I%26#39;d also like to know who offers these great rates for Littré.

In any case, if that doesn%26#39;t work out, the link has many other options.

Did you look at the Hotel Select through Expedia%26#39;s website? I booked through them and got Eurostar + hotel at far less than I could have if I%26#39;d done it myself through the hotel and Eurostar website. The same probably applies to some other hotels.

|||

Oooooppps

Really sorry I am actually going end of March (i did post this late last night :)) and already have booked my eurostar tickets so unable to book the hotel with them now.

I have found the Hotel Littre on expedia for £114 a night or £127 with breakfast.

Thanks innaMontreal I will have a proper read of that when I get home.

Thanks again everyone, I think I will go for Hotel Littre is sounds really nice.
