My daughter and boyfriend, both 20, are going to paris for 3 nights in June. They want to be in a central, trendy area with pavement cafes etc. for people watching. Also, near to a metro. What area(s) would you suggest?

Ile St. Louis, Le Marais

Would also add the Latin Quarter, central, lively, lots of cafés and many young people (students) in the area.
Marais is very trendy, interesting shops, restaurants.
Île St-Louis/St-Louis isle is romantic and pretty, very quiet at night, once shops close.

My boyfriend and I (we%26#39;re both 23) were in Paris over New Years and stayed in the Marais. We loved it! It was so central to everything and we had so many cafes to choose from for each meal.
