Apartment with Terrace --- October??

Hello. I am looking at booking an apartment on Ile Saint Louis for late October. It has a terrace. Do you think the weather will be enjoyable enough to make use of the terrace?

That%26#39;s just about my favorite time of year to be in Paris - usually warm and sunny during the days, and a terrace should give you lots of enjoyment!

According the the BBC%26#39;s world city weather averages, (bbc.co.uk/weather/…), Paris%26#39; average max temperature for October is 16 degrees celcious (about 61 farenheit).

But then, it%26#39;s the same for April and when we were there in late March/early April a couple of years back, the days were bbeautifully warm and sunny.

I say go for it.

Weather is weather. Anyone with the prognosticative gift to make such predictions isn%26#39;t hangin%26#39; out here...they%26#39;re in Vegas...and VERY rich.

As a general rule it%26#39;s ALWAYS a good idea to have a terrace or balcony in Paris...even if you have to sit out on it with goose down underwear and a waterproof electric blanket wrapped around you. Even a bad view of Paris is better than the best views most other places.

I%26#39;d make sure it was on a sunny part of the island. Not on one of the interior streets.

I once spent a summer on the Ile St Louis and what I remember most, was my shock at the kleig lights that would innundate the living room everytime a Bateau Mouche went pass. I found this incredibly invasive and unenjoyable.

Phread is right about there being tour boats at night, but I never found it all that annoying (and they stop running around midnight, so that late glass of champagne or cognac won%26#39;t be interrupted). I have rented a place with a terrace on quai d%26#39;Anjou several times and loved it. (Also enjoyed it in early morning when the Seine is completely still and glassy - and some mornings you can watch the police divers practice.)

Thanks everyone!! I booked the apartment and will keep my fingers crossed in regards to the weather. But, I do like the idea of enjoying the terrace even if I have to wear hat, scarf, ear muffs, and parka!! With a good bottle of wine, how bad can it be, right??
