Need decent hotel near CDG Airport

Our family has a one-day layover in Paris this summer with a flight scheduled for early the next morning. Prefer to check into a hotel near CDG then head into the city for the day/evening. Can anyone make a hotel suggestion? THX

We%26#39;re staying at a Marriott near CDG on the 15th. Be aware, not all hotels, even near the airport have shuttles, and those that do often charge a fee.

Thank you very much for your quick response. Does the Marriott have a shuttle from the airport as well as into the city?

The shuttle is only from the airport to the hotel. To get to the city, you%26#39;d take the shuttle back to the airport, where there%26#39;s a train station. You can catch the RER train into the city. Much less expensive than a taxi, and since you won%26#39;t be carrying luggage, it wouldn%26#39;t be a hassle.

Take a look at the Mercure Roissy, part of the accorhotels.com chain. There%26#39;s a free shuttle service to the airport/train station.

We%26#39;ve stayed at a number of the Accor hotels, and they%26#39;re always a good buy and well maintained.

We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott the night before

our flight home in the summer of 2007.

It had a free shuttle to the terminals but what may make it useful for you is depending on the number in your family is that we had a very large suite. We got a price of 150 US for the night through an online booking site.

Thank you very much Rob. We have a family of 5 and will be there mid-July this year, so this sounds like a very good option.

The suite was HUGE with a king sized bed and a pull out sofa in the living room. There would have been lots of space in either room for another bed.

The restaurant had an outdoor terrace and was very bright so free sun glasses were provided along with the knives and forks. Kind of different.

There were also about a dozen internet computers in the lobby.

Tnaks again for the info. I called Marriott and was told that there it would proballby be tight for 5, but asking for a rollaway might do the trick instead of having to spend for an extra room in which we will be spending almost no time in. I was told that the usual European rooms were not as big as we were used to in the U.S.

Much appreciated.

Courtyard Marriott? The suite we had there was HUGE...

we had just come from a nice but very small suite in Amsterdam.

The Marriott also had %26quot;American%26quot; style AC which was nice... cold rather than coolish... ;^)
