Moulin de Malicorne

Has anyone stayed there? I heard one complaint about the bad plumbing and the smell of urine. I need more info. I need a place that accommodate around 8 people, with nice grounds.

Thanks I would really appreciate any help.

Have recently returned from the Moulin de Malicorne. The grounds are beautiful, and the plumbing etc seemed fine. However, it will certainly not accommodate 8 people. The main house has 2 double beds and 1 single - and realistically that is all you get because, while the out-house has a further 2 single beds, I don%26#39;t think it would be at all pleasant to stay in.

Also, although I didn%26#39;t notice any smell of urine or anything remotely as unpleasant, the interior is a little dark and musty, and there is little in the way of entertainment inside (no TV for example).

The place is well located, within easy reach of several towns and attractions. Just don%26#39;t plan on occupying more than 3 rooms.

A group of friends and I stayed at Moulin de Malicorne in May this year and loved it all. We were so delighted when we first drove through the front gates and realised that this huge, beautiful property was our destination! The house itself was really charming with everything you need to live the French country good life. There were only six of us but we could easily have fit more since there is an adorable, second %26quot;friend%26#39;s house%26quot; on the property as well. There%26#39;s also huge gardens, outdoor seating areas, a pool, several streams with little waterfalls, and your very own lake, complete with a row boat and %26quot;goose island%26quot;, all on the property itself. The barn had a selection of bicycles which were perfect for getting into the nearby towns and checking out the area. It was an easy drive to plenty of other towns and chateaux but honestly I was quite content to just relax most days - the immediate surroundings were hard to beat. I would definitely come back!

I am the owner of Moulin de Malicorne and one of our renters recently brought this forum to our attention because they were concerned that we were being libeled. I hope readers are able to see right through the absurdly false 2007 postings at the top of this forum in which a “lunaflores” pretends to have “heard” that our property smells of urine, yet still wants to know if it can accommodate 8 people! The bogus question is then answered by “londoner28” who claims to have been at our property in September of 2007 (we had no renters from London then) and who craftily picks up the thread of deceit and raises more fake issues. So why would anyone go to such trouble to deliberately malign our property on the Internet? Because they are part of a group that damaged our home (in 2006), then refused to leave the property for two weeks and barred our caretakers from entering to survey and address the damage, thus eliminating any chance of getting their security deposit back. We haven’t let this unfortunate experience dissuade us from sharing our wonderful French home with dozens of groups who have treasured their family reunions and special vacations at our property. We have glowing references from people all over the world and would be happy to provide interested parties with the contact info of former guests who have generously agreed to share their experiences. We invite you to visit our loiremoulin site and to contact us for further information.

To be fair, londoner28 actually defended the property, and did not support the %26quot;rumour%26quot; supposedly heard by the original poster. And londoner28 only says that he returned %26quot;recently%26quot;, not specifying that it was in September. To some people, %26quot;recently%26quot; could be anytime in the past few months. So I wouldn%26#39;t berate londoner28. The only fly in the ointment is the OP.

I%26#39;m sure the Moulin de Malicorne is delightful.

Our family of three couples:2 married children and one 21 years old had an AMAZING TIME at the WONDERFUL Moulin de Malicorne this past summer, where we were able to gather and enjoy the beauty, the quiet, and just being together. Everybody had a great time and it worked out perfectly for us. Both houses were beautiful -- very comfortable and very clean. I was happy to have milk, wine and cheese, bread and fruit waiting for us on Sunday. That was so helpful. The weather seemed to get better everyday and allowed us to read and relax around the pool. The geese made us laugh and became used to our troop. All of us feel refreshed and we all agreed that the moulin worked miracles on us. We highly recommend Moulin de Malicorne!

Yes, my family and I stayed there in 2007, and the first floor smelled very bad. We bought some incense and kept them lit, but the smell was pretty bad.

I am the owner of Moulin de Malicorne. We did not rent to anyone named Susan Long, who claims in her February 2009 posting to have stayed at our property in 2007. Critical thinkers need only ask themselves why %26quot;Susan Long,%26quot; if she were legit, would visit this site two years after her supposed visit to post a negative comment. Clearly, the one person (in the history of our rentals) who damaged our property and didn%26#39;t reclaim their security deposit is going to great lengths to post multiple negative items under multiple false names. Fraud is so easy to commit on the internet and so hard to combat! Please do not be swayed by this vile attempt to malign us and our property. For the truth about Moulin de Malicorne, please visit our site and contact me for references. We have rented to delighted guests from all over the world who would be happy to speak with you.

The property has a plumbing problem... that much is clear from posting by others who have stayed there recently.
