Printing SNCF tickets

I%26#39;ve just printed off 2 tickets I bought from the SNCF website.

However, I noticed that my tickets do not come with a barcode - the sample ticket does. I had used Adobe Reader version 6 to create and print my tickets. The website says use at least Adobe Reader version 4.

I then tried to go back and create the tickets again after downloading the latest version of Adobe Reader, but the SNCF website refused to let me print my tickets again because I had already done so.

Would I have any problems travelling with tickets without a barcode? Or can I enquire at a train station in France by giving them my booking reference number and hopefully they can give me new tickets?

I don%26#39;t read French and has been relying on an online translation tool to figure out the instructions. Can I actually print my tickets again, except that I don%26#39;t know where to find the link?

Help, please!

Do you have an email yet with the confirmation number, etc.?

When you get that, clear all the %26#39;cookies%26#39; on your pc, then sign into SNCF and find your booking record. Then you should be able to print again.

Yes, I have that email.

But it still says I have already created and printed my tickets and won%26#39;t allow me to print again. The printer icon doesn%26#39;t work when I click on it. I%26#39;ve already cleared the cache and cookies on my PC.

Did you encounter the same thing, but was able to print the tickets again after removing the cookies?

I know this sounds silly - but do print-at-home tickets now come WITHOUT a barcode? (Impossible because conductors need to scan it, no?!)

Can I still enquire at a train station and show them my confirmation booking if further attempts to print fail again, and have them issue me new tickets? I%26#39;m just afraid they may ignore my request, assuming I had asked for print-it-yourself tickets.

When I bought Paris to Milan tickets from Canada I was only able to print off the confirmation of the tickets and I have to pick up the tickets in Paris at the train station! I was given no option to actually print off the tickets at all!

Could this be the case with you as well???

The sncf website assure that you should be able to print the pdf ticket again :

voyages-sncf.com/info_resa/popup/gl/fr/condi…

But I think that as far as all the informations are well printed (date, train number, schedule, seat number,...), you won%26#39;t have any problem: you don%26#39;t need the bar code as the conductor actually don%26#39;t use it to control the tickets. And after the website the requirement is %26quot;a good printing quality%26quot; %26quot;on a A4 format white paper%26quot;, it does not mention the bar code!

|||

I%26#39;ve never encountered a conductor who used a bar code scanner, so I don%26#39;t think that%26#39;s a problem. It%26#39;s odd you can%26#39;t print again, however, because I%26#39;ve printed more than one copy of tickets in the past.

If you go to the e-mail confirmation you got, there should be an embedded pdf in the body of it, that you can access and print however often you like (i.e, not from the SNCF web site, but from the e-mail you received after making payment).

Thanks, everyone, for responding!

JodoKast1221, unlike in your case, I was given an option to print the tickets.

only-lyon %26amp; Berkeley_travelers, I%26#39;m assuming the conductor will scan the tickets because when you travel on tickets bought online from the Spanish RENFE website, Spanish train conductors do scan the code for verification. So, I%26#39;m thinking it might be the same for SNCF.

Berkeley_travelers, I%26#39;ve just gone back to the confirmation email and clicked on a link that says %26quot;Billet Aller%26quot;. The PDF-format ticket comes up, but there is no bar code on the ticket. It%26#39;s very odd. I thought it%26#39;s the version of Adobe Reader I use at home. But I%26#39;m using the PC at work and the ticket looks no different.

Has anyone printed any tickets lately without the bar code?

All the details (names, travel date, etc.) are on the tickets I printed. So I guess that will have to work.

There was no bar code on the tickets I printed out last summer. I thought it odd and asked at an information booth when we got to the station.... there was no problem.

There was kind of a blotchy area on the print out

I seem to recall. I may still have copies... will

check tomorrow morning.

I don%26#39;t think you need to worry.

Like Berkley I was sent a link to a PDF in my confirmation email. I was able to print this multiple times. I also saved this (and all my confirmations, tickets etc) to my memory stick and emailed it to myself and took two printed copies of the tickets - talk about overkill!!!

I have just gone back and looked at the PDF of my tickets from Jan 2008 which I still have saved in my Europe 07/08 file. There is no bar code just a strange blotchy looking bit in one corner.

|||

It is the same : there is a square in the right low corner of the ticket, with pixel like image in it.

Don%26#39;t worry, you won%26#39;t have any problem!

There is a blotch in the corner of my tickets, too. Guess I%26#39;m good to go. Thanks everyone for the reassurance! After much struggling with booking in French, I want those tickets to be valid! :-)
